Meet Your Host and Expert Presenters

Host | Owner, Fitness Is NOT A Game

I'm Krystal Taylor, the heartbeat behind Fitness Is NOT A Game and the visionary leading the Breakthrough Intensive Weekend. My journey into the fitness realm kicked off with something as simple yet innovative as a deck of exercise playing cards, sparking my belief that while fitness is indeed fun, it's anything but a game. This unique start laid the foundation for my entire approach: making exercise a joyful yet vital part of our lives.

I'm the proud author of "F* The Scale: Don't Let a Number Weigh You Down," alongside two cookbooks that align with my mission to blend health and happiness seamlessly. Beyond the pages, I extend my passion through a virtual coaching program, fitness initiatives, and specially designed retreats, not to mention a curated line of products and apparel to enhance your fitness journey.

Driving my efforts is a deep-seated goal to empower at least 1,000,000 Black and Brown families to rewrite their family's health narrative. Through my free challenges and online trainings, I aim to touch as many lives as possible.

With 29 years of experience in training in the military, corporate, and educational sectors and having personally trained over 130 women in the last decade, my expertise is as extensive as it is passionate. Whether you're joining one of my challenges, reading one of my books, or participating in my coaching programs, you're getting all of me and my passion for making a difference. Together, let's sidestep the scale, redefine health, and integrate fitness into your life as a source of joy and empowerment.

Dr. Karleena Tuggle-McDaniel

Expert Presenter | Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Karleena Tuggle-McDaniel is a health expert and enthusiast, body positivity/ self-love advocate, and Bariatric (weight-loss surgeon) with a passion to empower the Black community through health awareness and education. This Board-Certified Surgeon embraces the philosophy “good health is our greatest asset, and the foundation of our potential''.

After graduating from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and earning her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, she completed her residency in general surgery from Howard University Hospital. She is currently the Medical Director for a Bariatric Surgery Program in Atlanta.

For 15 years she has had a front row seat to health care disparity, lack of basic health awareness, and suboptimal health in minority communities. Witnessing the detrimental effects these factors have had on the Black Community fueled her to turn her frustrations into promoting a movement to change the current narrative.

She is the Co-Founder of Problk Health, a vitamin and wellness company she started with her husband Darian McDaniel in 2019. Problk Health’s mission is to literally promote the health of Black people. With more than 90% of Black Americans having vitamin deficiencies, Problk Health offers varieties of vitamins and supplements, with 50% of net profits going back to non-profits that specifically target health and healing in the Black community. Allowing people to invest in their own health while investing in the health of the Black Community as whole.

She balances her family, hospital work, and military service (Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves with two tours of duty under her belt), while immersing her optimistic and spirited attitude toward life in all that she does.

Dr. Karleena has been a panelist speaker on health and wellness stages at Essence Fest, and frequently speaks at various events on the obesity epidemic, health & wellness, self-worth, and entrepreneurship.
